The ATMO ACCESS project has officially started. It is a great opportunity to benefit from open Transnational access to the SIRTA Atmospheric observatory.

The 4th call for Trans-National Access within ATMO-ACCESS is now open until May 2nd, 2023.

Although the call topic is open, this access call is specifically open to users who can benefit from a major component of the access to be carried out remotely, either through fully remote or hybrid access.

ATMO-ACCESS promotes gender equality in scientific research and specifically encourages applications from women.

 

In order to apply, you should complete the online Application form before May 2nd 2023.

The Call Timeline is as follows:

  • Call opening: 27th February 2023
  • Deadline for applications: 2nd May 2023
  • Review period: 3rd May 2023 – 15th June 2022
  • Final list of accepted TNAs: 16th June 2023
  • Access Period: End of June 2023 – June 2024

One of the main objectives of ATMO ACCESS is to provide coordinated open physical, remote and virtual access to state-of-the-art facilities and services in atmospheric RIs and further enhance their range of products, capabilities and accessibility for a wide range of users, including the private sector.

Transnational Access (TNA) is provided in two types:

  • in person (physical access), with users physically visiting the facility/installation and receiving the service “hands-on”
  • remotely (remote access), with resources and services offered without users physically visiting the facility/installation

The access is free of charge and includes the logistical, technological and scientific support and the specific training that is needed to use the services provided by the facility.

Proposals are eligible if they meet the Transnationality criteria: the users must work in a country other than France.

The global ambition of the project is to address the needs for developing sustainable solutions based on the principles of open access and to develop guidelines and recommendations for governance, management and funding for efficient and effective access provision suited to distributed atmospheric RIs. This project investigates the most suitable mechanisms that could lead to the sustainable provision of access to atmospheric research infrastructures.
